What the poster shows
At the heart of the poster, the Ursulines convent under its pewter dome, with its sundial. Behind it, the turquoise arch of the Laviolette Bridge spans the river, where a freighter passes.
In front, a row of local shops: a « Poésie » bookshop, a brasserie, a bench under a lamppost, a nod to the city of poetry.
A Trois-Rivières postcard unlike the others
Most Trois-Rivières postcards are photos. These are hand-drawn in flat design: simple shapes, bold colours, and a city you recognise at first glance, from Old Trois-Rivières to the banks of the St. Lawrence.

Trois-Rivières, from rue des Forges to the waterfront park
Founded in 1634, Trois-Rivières is one of the oldest French-speaking cities in North America. Its historic centre, rue des Forges, its terraces and the waterfront park on the river set the tone: a human-scale city between Montréal and Québec City.
It is also the capital of poetry, a nod you will find in the drawing with the « Poésie » bookshop. UQTR graduates, people from Trois-Rivières who moved away and visitors passing through recognise their landmarks: the Ursulines dome, the turquoise arch of the Laviolette Bridge and the freighters on the river.
