In autumn, the sky in my drawings turns orange, like a late October afternoon. The branches at the top fill with red leaves, the trees turn copper and the sun sinks low on the horizon.

Montréal in autumn
Mount Royal turns golden brown and the whole skyline, from the big wheel to the Olympic Stadium, takes on rusty tones. A few fallen leaves lie on the sidewalk, outside the dépanneur and the bagel shop.
Québec City in autumn
Cap Diamant fills with orange trees below the Château Frontenac, with the Québec flag flying above. The ferry crosses the river toward the Québec Bridge. Below, Petit-Champlain stands out against the orange sky.
Trois-Rivières in autumn
In front of the Ursulines convent, the trees have turned bright orange. The sun sets behind the Laviolette bridge as the cargo ship passes on the river. Further down, the « Poésie » bookshop and the brasserie.
Sherbrooke in autumn
Below Saint-Michel Cathedral, the shore of Lac des Nations is all orange. A sailboat and a kayak are still making the most of the water. Below, the jeweller, the coffee roaster, the grocer and the gallery, under a copper sky.
The Plateau in autumn
The big trees of Carré Saint-Louis are bright orange. Two people are out for some air around the fountain, and a black cat crosses the grass. Behind them, the red brick of the Victorian houses and the Marronnier terrace.
